Be Strong and Courageous
About a month and a half ago, it was time to start signing up for the yearly 7th and 8th grade trip to New Braunfels. When I asked my parents if I could go, they said they would think about it, and that they didn’t have an answer at the time. As I waited for their response, I became very impatient. Why wouldn’t they just tell me? Then the day before the last day to sign up, my parents said no. My life was ruined. I just kept thinking, “They already said no, they’re not going to change their minds, there’s no hope now!”
Then I found this verse, Deuteronomy 31:6, it says, “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be terrified, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you, He will not leave you or forsake you.”
This verse gave me hope that I shouldn’t quit, I should keep my chin up, trust in God, and let him do the rest. So I waited patiently, I didn’t bug my parents about it, like any other teenager would do, I just trusted in God and continued to pray that God’s will would be done. The next morning was the last day to sign up for the trip, and I was getting worried. After school I went home and went to my dad. I asked him if I was going or not, and he told me that he had already turned in the paper work that morning. I was thrilled!
It just goes to show you, that there is always hope when you trust in God. He will fulfill His plan, just like He did for me. So whenever you feel not sure about something, just remember to pray, be patient, and trust in God alone!
