Day 37 - Sydney Wirtzberger, Grade 9

Sydney Wirtzberger
9th Grade
Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye. Mathew 7: 1-5

This verse says that we should not judge others or we ourselves will be judged by God. It also says that no one is without sin so how can we judge someone else’s sin. What this says to me is that we should not pass judgment on others because we may think we know their situation but we may not really know. This can be a real challenge and Satan is more than willing to interfere. You can be having a hard time with a friend and you talk about it with someone and before you know it everyone is passing judgment on what they think is going on when they really don’t know because they only have one side of the story. This is not a problem for just kids but for adults as well. We should all stop and think about this verse before we decide to judge a person or a situation.

Lord please help me remember that no one is without sin and therefore you have commanded us to not judge one another. Remind me that I may not really know what is going on in a situation and so I should not pass judgment. Help me to be mindful of my words and actions and let me never forget that I will be held accountable for not only my actions but judging others for theirs. Amen.

Day 36 - Mrs. Castillo's 3rd Grade Class

Mrs. Castillo's 3rd Grade Class
PCA-Arlington
Proverb 3:5 "Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and lean not on your own understanding"

As a class we have discussed that even when times are hard and we want to give up, we have to believe in God and in His plan for us. Sometimes when His path is different from the one we would have chosen for ourselves, we have to believe that HE knows what our path should be!

Our prayer is for the students and staff of PCA:

Dear Lord,

Thank you for the wonderful school that we are able to attend. Please watch over all of the students and staff of PCA throughout the summer. Let them have peaceful and relaxing times with family and friends. Let us all honor you with our words and actions during the summer. Bring everyone back safely and with healthy minds and bodies. We ask these things in the name of your Son, Amen.

Day 35 - Mrs. Frazier's Pre-K Class

Mrs. Frazier's Pre-K Class
PCA-Arlington
"In my trouble I called to the Lord and He answered me.” Jonah 22:2

While studying things that live under the sea, Mrs. Frazier’s class learned about Jonah and his time in the belly of the whale. They learned that while Jonah was inside the whale, he prayed and thanked God for saving his life.
Here is what that verse meant to them:
Trevor Berquist – “If I am ever in trouble, I will pray to God to help me.”
Avery Kunze – “If I were in the belly of the whale, I would pray to God that I would never get hurt!”
Autumn Woodfin – “Jonah wrote the story for us.”
Johnny Howerton – “ I think that if I was in trouble I would just stay in trouble or I would pray for God to help me.”
Griffin Norris – “It was accident that happened because he ran away from God.”
Caedmon Allen – “ I think that Jonah was sorry for not obeying God.”
Aidan Henson – “God is the Lord and I really don’t know what that verse means.”

Dear Lord, Please help us to be obedient in all areas of our life. Thank you Lord that we can call to you in troubled times and anytime. We love you Lord and thank you for loving us! In His name we pray! Amen!

Day 34 - Noelle Turner, Grade 9

Noelle Turner, 9th Grade

 Luke 1: 47-48
“How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior!  For he took notice of his lowly servant girl, and from now on all generations will call me blessed.”

This verse means to me that we should rejoice in God no matter what. If we tell God what we need then He will give it to us.  Also if we humble ourselves then we will receive more.

This verse calls us to glorify and rejoice in the Lord through whatever we are going through and to never doubt him and always have faith.

Dear Lord,
Help each person to rejoice in You during good times and bad times.

Day 33 - Luke Jones, Grade 4

Luke Jones - 4th Grade
PCA-Arlington
Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength."

This verse is special to me because when I find myself afraid and with no strength, Christ always gives me His strength. There will be a time in every person’s life when we face something that is difficult. But we can experience Christ’s strength when we call on the name of Jesus, who promises to take our weakness and trade it for His strength. I know that this is true because Jesus Christ has done this for me.
You see, when I was 2 years old, I was diagnosed with Leukemia. The doctors said that I only had 30 days to live. I was really weak and afraid! But my parents taught me to not be afraid and to trust in God. Christ gave me His strength to stand up to cancer and now I am 6 years cancer free! To God be the Glory! No matter what is going on in your life, always remember that Jesus Christ is your strength and that nothing is too hard for Him.

Prayer:
Dear God, please help everyone who does not feel strong this week to find their strength in You. Help each of us to know that it is You who is our strength! In Jesus Name, Amen!

Day 32 - Brittany Davis, Grade 7

Brittany Davis - 7th Grade
Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you, not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”

What’s going to happen? What if…? These simple questions really get us to think about our future. What is going to happen? We don’t know until it happens, but God knows. He knows every little detail. Do we really want to know what’s going to happen? Probably not, but that’s why we don’t know. Our Almighty God does and his plans for us our amazing. They will bring us joy and delight. We will get off track in our lives and we will hit speed bumps, but God’s plans for us is not to harm us but to prosper us. Everything in our lives happens for a reason.
Even though we all have been through some rough times this verse helps me remember that this is part of God’s ultimate plan.

Lord, please show me that You are there. Help me to know that the things in my life are happening for a reason. Help me to know that You are in control of my life. Amen

Day 31 - Meredith Locke, Grade 7

Meredith Locke - 7th Grade
Step Out - “God made Him who has no sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” –2 Corinthians 5:21-

Jesus (“he who has no sin”) was made by God to give us the opportunity to be righteous and live with God for eternity. However, for us that have already made the decision to follow Christ, we need to make this opportunity known to others. This way they can make the same decisions. Even better, we are blessed with great resources to do so.

“He said to them, ’Go into all the World and preach the good news to all creation.’”
–Mark 16:15-

In this verse the Lord commands you and I to preach to ALL creation. All people are created and loved by God and deserve to know how to be saved. However it is sad to know many people have never been to church or have ever been invited at all. As active followers of Christ, it is our job never to pass up an opportunity to share God’s grace with people. That isn’t necessarily inviting them to church, most of the time it is just showing them the love of Christ. Be a friend to someone who is lonely; take the time to buy a meal for someone who doesn’t have one. You may not know it at the time, but you will be amazed at how God uses everyone to fit all the little puzzle pieces together in someone’s life. All you have to do is to be willing to give up your time or money and God can guide you in the rest. If you are willing, God will make it clear, exactly what you have to do.

“If I preach voluntarily, I have a reward; if not voluntarily, I am simply discharging the trust committed to me.”
-1 Corinthians 9:17-

When we do step out of our comfort zone to share with others, we need to have a good attitude about it. Don’t do it because you have to, do it because you are blessed to be used by the God of the world to do his work. He loves you and trusts you as his servant. You don’t have to leave the state or even the city you live in to do something big. Your small acts of kindness and the little thought of, “Jesus loves you” or “Why don’t you come to church with me Sunday?” that you put into one person’s mind makes a world of a difference. The little things you do plants seeds and God works out the rest. All we have to do is be willing to plant those seeds!

Dear Lord,
Thank you for blessing me with a great school and community and, thank you for giving us the Holy Spirit to guide us through our daily lives. I pray that I would do my best to live for you, Lord. I want to be a light in the world that shows you glory. I also pray that our school would do our best to reach out to others who need to be shown and given the abundant love of Jesus Christ.-Amen
